City breaks in Aberdeen

Aberdeen is known as the Silver City, because much of its architecture has been constructed using locally quarried grey granite to give it an extra touch of sparkle! Aberdeen is also the city with the 3rd biggest population in Scotland, making it the ideal destination for a busy, bustling city break with something to amuse all ages.

A city centre apartment in the heart of Aberdeen will provide you will an excellent base to explore all of the sights. Once you’re settled in, you’ll have access to the area’s great array of bars, shops and restaurants, as well a vast range of museums and galleries – the Aberdeen Maritime Museum is a must visit for anyone wanting to learn about the city’s connection to the sea. Food fans should try the local delicacy of Aberdeen buttery (a buttery, salty cross between a croissant and a pancake), whereas drama enthusiasts might enjoy a trip to one of the region’s many live music areas and theatres.

However, Aberdeen is much more than the big buildings and busy streets that you might expect. This city has won the RHS Britain in Bloom horticultural competition a staggering ten times, so make sure you take some time to stop and smell (and admire!) the flowers too.

A city break in Aberdeen has something for everyone – when will you take yours?
