The world is made up of two different kinds of people: those who when seeing a blanket of snow from between the curtains in the morning scrabble for coal and a carrot with which to adorn their snowman, and those who give serious consideration to climbing back into bed for the rest of the winter.

If you fall into the latter category then you may want to warm yourself with thoughts of sunnier times, and what better way than to spend these snow days planning your summer beach holiday?

The first thing you should think about is the kind of accommodation you want. If you’ve got a young family, or you just like to have everything conveniently in one place so you can kick back and relax, a UK holiday park close to the beach might be exactly what you’re looking for. Holiday park accommodation ranges from traditional chalets and apartments to luxury static caravans suitable for large families.

If you just want to be close to all the fun of the seaside but still have a quiet and peaceful place of your own, then a holiday cottage or holiday lodge might be more suitable for your summer holiday.

Once you know what kind of place you want, you can start looking for the exact location where you will indulge in sun, sea, sand and frolics this summer. The UK has some great seaside holiday destinations to choose from, ranging from Blackpool and Scarborough in the north, to Newquay and Torquay in the south, with Skegness and Great Yarmouth conveniently located around the middle of the country.
