UK Cycling Holidays

Whether you put it down the recent British victory at the Tour de France, or the incredible popularity of the Olympics and Paralympics, cycling has quickly become one of the UK’s most popular sports. If you’re looking for a sporting holiday that allows you to take in some of the country’s most stunning scenery, why not get on your bike and take a cycling holiday? Here are our some of our favourite UK locations for cycling:

  • The Lake District

The Lake District is a wonderful option for any budding cyclists – there are country lanes, permitted cycleways and bridleways in abundance, perfect for taking a scenic tour of the area. Whinlatter Forest and Grizedale Forest are particularly good choices for mountain bikers.

  • Kent

Kent is known as the ‘Garden of England’, thanks to its picturesque setting and lovely rural scenery. There are plenty of ways to take a ride through this vast garden – local routes such as the ‘Tudor Trail’ take you through some of the most beautiful areas. Popular stop off points include Haysden Country Park or the tranquil River Medway.

  • Cambridge

The pretty city of Cambridge lends itself perfectly to a relaxing cycling break. There are a number of local initiatives to encourage residents to cycle, and visitors should follow suit! There are even organised cycling tours throughout the area, so that you can be sure you see all of the sights.
