"It was the fastest way to reduce day to day stress! Being a busy Head of Science Faculty in a Secondary School in term time, I took my watch off and turned off my mobile phone - it really didn't matter what time you had meals or had your sleep. We were our own boss for the week. My children aged nine to four spent the time fishing, helping daddy pull the boat through the locks or doing science kits with me. I had the time to bake several cakes which is something I haven't done in years! The highland people are really friendly too - we fully intend to build this family time experience into our holiday plans every year now - next time we're also taking an inflatable canoe to widen the kids experiences. We've found a gem of a holiday and didn't want it to end."
